Last week of summer.......

I can't believe how quick summer has gone. This is the last week before school starts. Savannah will be a 5th grader. WOW!! It seems like just yesterday we were bringing her home from the hospital, all 11lbs of her. Now you would never know it, she was one of the smallest girls in her class last year, and is the smallest 10 year old on her team. She has grown 3+ inches this summer alone, and is once again taller than her brother. Dominick is entering 3rd grade, he has grown into such a young man. He has his fathers sensitive side, but is 100% boy. Dirt and all, much to my unhappiness (those of you that know me well, know how I feel about dirt, YUCK!)

They are with their granparents (Crittenden) today, they are gonig to OMSI and then spending the night. It is the first time in a long, long time they have spent the night there, and they both were anxiously waiting my the door at 9am this morning, even though I kept telling them "Not until 9:30, and you know Grandma is always 10 minutes late", so my smartypants sons says" Mom, it's 9:40, where are they......" Soon there after the arrived, and the kids ran off to the car. It is a great thing, having Granparents live so close, and that are willing to spend quality time with our kids. I hope they know how much I appreciate it!

Summers almost over, the kids are heading back to school, the leaves are turning brown already. Where has time gone?

Who's your hero?

HERO

Someone we admire.
Someone we look up to.
Someone who gives us hope.
Not a myth or an icon or a legend-
Someone solid, genuine and real.
An ordinary person who does extraordinary things.
A hero picks us up when we are down.
Believes in us before we believe in ourselves.
Inspires us to expand and embrace what’s possible.
Helps us realize that we can be heroes too

Just a thought for today........who is YOUR hero?

Family

It's so quiet this morning. This past weekend my sister, brother in law, and niece flew in from Easthampton, MA for a visit. Autum is 11 and almost as tall as me. I can't believe how much she has grown in the last year since they moved. It was great to get us all together again, as my parents were also here.

Again it's so quiet this morning, which is a good and bad. After having my parents here for a week, and others for the weekend. I am exhausted. I played hostess all weekend, cooking, cleaning, and trying to make sure everyone had fun. Its exhausting. I think daycare is easier most days. But then again, I sure do miss my family when they are miles and miles away.

In attendance: Me (red shirt, Aaron, Savannah, Dominick, Mother ( tan tank top), Daddy, Chris (my sister in green tan top), Patrick (my BIL in maroon shirt (beard), Autumn (my niece in black swimsuit), Nicole (my niece in turquoise shirt), Jon (Nicole's fiance in glasses), Gary(sisters good ex-husband in blackish gray shirt), Jen (Garys wife), Rachel(Gary/Jen's duaghter) & Gawyne (Gary/Jen's son).

Oallala Lake

On Sunday we decided to take a drive and head to Oallala Lake (just east of Newport). Its a great lake that does NOT allow motored boats, so it was quiet and relaxing. Scarlett learned to swim (who knew that a retreiver needed help to learn, she kept trying to keep her body upright, and her hindquarters just sank. The kids played on the raft and innertube and I just saw on the shore and read my book. It was a great Sunday!

Evidently Savnnah had lots of fun, because this is how she looked most of the way home!!

Yes she is fast alseep, with part of her lap desk wrapped around her neck.. Silly girl!

Soccer Camp 2006

Dominck attended the AYSO/UK International Soccer camp again this year.
He had a great time, learned lots, and go really dirty! He is in the yellow smocky thing with light blue shorts.

Weekend Activities

This weekend was so filled with fun activities. But boy am I tired!

Saturday- Savannah and I did some school clothes shopping (I love the 80's, now she will too) then headed to open-gym for a quick 3 hour practice (way to break in those new grips), then I went to my pedicure appointmen (HEAVEN!!) and then off to a birthday party at COOL! the newsest (and smallest) outdoor pool around. BUT I forgot my camera for all of it.

Sunday-Off to Costco for our weekly shopping, back by 11am, cleaned house as a family (much to the kids unhappiness that the cleaning faries were not doing it and they had to) then off to the Benton County Fair. They kids rode rides, saw animals, and in the end we saw Freestyle Motorcross show (staring none other than Jimmy Fitzpatrick, he does an awesome back flip off a ramp) and then a Demolition Derby. This is what Aaron was most excited about, BUT then he counted all the cars and there were ONLY 3! Boy was he bummed. In about 7 minutes it was over, and the yellow & black car won.
